Edinburgh again?

I was in Phoenix with family last Christmas & killing time by surfing where I should spend a portion of the cold months coming up, when on a whim, I signed up for the FitShortie Vegan/Raw Food Retreat in Bali.  I book most trips on a whim, but I had been following Tina & Simon…@FitShortie…on Instagram for quite a while.  They looked awesome & they were hosting this fruit retreat in Bali…& I wanted to start eating healthier…boom…I was going!

Bali was simply amazing & I enthusiastically recommend it as a travel destination, but what I got out of the retreat was something really unexpected.  I was invited, off the cuff, to a wedding in Edinburgh!  The inviter…Peter…was the best guy.  Always with a big smile…a joke…a hug.  Just a lovely human.  He brought the group together & his cheerful disposition was the high point of the retreat.   He’s a guy you just hope for as a friend.

I ended up keeping in touch with some other retreaters as well…Jessica from California & Evelyn from London & as we chatted via Instagram & later WhatsApp, a plan was hatched to meet in Scotland to attend Peter & Charlie’s wedding together.

So, that’s my little backstory on why I’m ditching my rental car in Manchester & taking the train up to stay in Edinburgh again. We have an Airbnb booked for us three girls & when I arrive tonight, I’m meeting up with the group to spend four days in one of my favourite cities in the world with some of my new favourite people!

I bought a new dress in Exeter, new shoes in Worcester & old/new antique earrings & purse in Tetbury at a vintage shop!  Good times ahead!!
